Silver rounds are tokens that contain real silver and are minted by private mints or refineries. They are sold generally in 1-ounce sizes and can be minted in varying degrees of fineness, though usually of 99.9% silver purity. They are not backed by any government and therefore have no legal tender value. Partly for this reason, they typically sell for less of a premium than silver bullion coins issued by various governments throughout the world. |
